History
Where we began.....
The foundation stone of ‘Immaculate Conception School’ was laid by Archbishop Daniel Mannix on March 26th 1922. The school opened in September 1922 under the guidance of the Sisters of Mercy with an enrolment of thirty two students. In 1928 a hall was added, followed by a new toilet block in 1956. In 1961 the school became known as Mary Immaculate and, with increasing numbers, two more classrooms were built in 1969, a staffroom in 1975 and a further two classrooms in 1984.
That was then.
Today Mary Immaculate consists of seven classrooms, a staffroom, a library, an Information Technology Centre, a meeting room, sick bay, tuckshop, uniform shop, administration and reception area, multi-purpose centre, staff resource area, Visual Arts Centre and after school care facility.
And this is now!
