The Capabilities Lab

The MIPS Capabilities Lab develops the skills and dispositions children need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, students learn to wonder, question, create, investigate, problem-solve and innovate, building curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and confidence for the future.

From Prep to Year 6, thinking becomes a journey.

It begins with the freedom to imagine, grows through the desire to be curious, develops through the ability to reason, and ultimately empowers children to innovate.

The goal is not simply to teach children what to think, but to develop confident thinkers who know how to think, question, create, collaborate and solve problems—preparing them to navigate an ever-changing world with curiosity, creativity and confidence.

Most children will agree that The Capabilities Lab is by far their favourite specialist subject at MIPS.
