PREP ENROLMENTS ARE NOW OPEN FOR 2026 and 2027
Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we are delighted that you are considering joining our community. At our school, we pride ourselves on being a place where every child is known, valued and supported to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
We understand that beginning the enrolment journey can feel overwhelming, so we aim to make the process as simple, transparent and as welcoming as possible.
Our Enrolment Process
- Initial Enquiry – Families are warmly invited to contact our school office via 9497 1827 or email at karen.mahoney@miivanhoe.catholic.edu.au, or alternatively enquire online through our website to express their interest in enrolling their child. Our friendly team is here to answer any questions that you may have.
- School Tour or Open Day – We encourage prospective families to attend a school tour or Open Day to meet with our Principal and our Student Leaders to experience our school culture. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our learning spaces in action, ask questions, and gain a sense of the strong relationships and supportive environment that underpin our school community.
- Submission of Enrolment Application – Families complete an enrolment application form and provide supporting documentation, such as birth certificate, immunisation history, and any relevant educational or medical information. Sharing this information early helps us plan thoughtfully to support each child’s needs. Submissions are due by Friday, 1 May. We kindly ask that a non-refundable $100 deposit supports your application, and once accepted this amount is deducted from the school fees. If your family is experiencing financial difficulty, please do not hesitate in discussing this with our Principal.
- Enrolment Meeting and Offer of Placement – The Principal will meet with families in the week beginning Monday, 11 May, to learn more about their child and answer any questions. Following this conversation, families will receive written confirmation by Friday, 22 May of an offer of enrolment if a place is available.
- Transition and Welcome – Once enrolment is confirmed by Friday, 5 June, families will receive a welcome pack with key information about starting school, routines, communication processes, and opportunities to connect with our community. We place great importance on ensuring children feel safe, confident and excited as they begin their journey with us.
Our Commitment to Families
We believe strong partnerships between home and school are the foundation of student success. From your first enquiry through to your child’s first day and beyond, our team is committed to walking alongside your family with care, clarity and open communication.
We warmly invite you to reach out, book a tour, and experience firsthand the sense of belonging that makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Prep Orientation Program
Our extended Prep Orientation Program of eight sessions, will take place across the year, beginning in July. This Program enables our new Prep students to experience a positive transition from kindergarten to school, as they get to know each other, our wonderful staff and the layout of our school, before they begin school the following year. They also get to meet their Year 6 Buddy for the next year – we’re not sure who loves this more, the Year 6 students or our new Preps! We confidently say, the only tears on the first day of school are from the parents, as our Orientation Program helps to ensure that our new Preps are well and truly ready to start their primary schooling.
At Mary Immaculate Primary School (MIPS), we genuinely are a ‘dynamic and caring community’. Our extended Orientation Program also provides our Prep parents with an opportunity to meet the other new families and begin to get to know each other as they become part of our welcoming and friendly school community. See what our parents and our students have to say in our Parent Testimonials and Student Testimonials…
Our Open Days for 2026 are well underway, but as ‘every day is an Open Day’ at Mary Immaculate School, parents can contact our school office for a personal ‘talk and tour’ if you are unable to attend our remaining dates.
We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful school!
