Safer Internet Day 2021

Safer Internet Day – February 9, 2021

Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world in February of each year, with Safer Internet Centres, Safer Internet Day Committees and other supporters in countries across the world, coming together to plan and organise events. https://www.saferinternetday.org/

In Australia, Safer Internet Day activities are coordinated by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner. Parents and educators alike can find ideas and activities to support our children in becoming safer internet users.

This year’s theme is, ‘START THE CHAT‘. Over the last year, our students have seen a marked increase in the use of technology in order to remain connected with family, with school, with each other.  At Mary Immaculate School, we will be starting, and continuing, the chat, alongside people from 170 countries around the world on Safer Internet Day on February 9. We will continue educating our students about the importance of being critical thinkers when online, of being creative and collaborative internet users, of the importance of communicating safely and above all else, furthering their skills in order to make safe choices and protect themselves in an online world.

BE SAFE, BE KIND, ASK FOR HELP, MAKE GOOD CHOICES
